Participation in performing arts provides young adults like you with an unparalleled experience to grow in confidence, gain experience, and truly immerse yourself in the post-secondary experience. Theatre is unique in the extremely supportive community it provides, more than just a cast, you will gain support from our executive team and friendships to last a lifetime.
Led by a team of experienced individuals with various backgrounds, ASTC provides young leaders opportunities to refine their skills on the executive board. Whether you need support on or off the stage, we are ready and willing to see you through each step. In each cast, leadership roles are available, including; Cast Representative, Dance Captain, or heading up a department of the creative team. This allows our members to showcase and grow in their unique skill sets.
Our mission at ASTC is to combat the disclusion and negativity often found in professional performing arts spaces. ASTC strives to provide professional-level experiences in our productions and within our organization. We pride ourselves on being as accessible to members as possible, ensuring our members not only feel welcome but wanted.
This company was formed after the successful production of Anne of Green Gables in the 2002-2003 school year by the group's founders: Emily Boag, Matthew Brady, Erin Clow, Rachael Nicholls, and Amanda Pulker. That show inspired the name of our company. Since then, Anne Shirley Theatre has continued to grow and showcase the talents of many wonderful performers year after year through our annual productions and events. Whether you are backstage, in the audience, or under the spotlight, the Anne Shirley Theatre Company would not be possible without you and your support of the arts!
